Important: Waxing services cannot be performed if you are using Retin-A, Renova or Accutane. It is imperative that you tell your esthetician about any medication you are currently taking or have taken within the last three months. Waxing can cause adverse skin reaction
Q: Is waxing suitable for everyone?
A: Waxing is a very safe treatment however it cannot be done where there are varicose veins, skin diseases, cuts and abrasions, warts or hairy moles If you suffer from oversensitive skin, peripheral artery disease, peripheral neuropathy or diabetes you should consult your G.P or a health professional before being waxed.
Q: What's involved?
A: The area being waxed is cleansed with pre wax lotion and then warm wax is applied to a small area using a spatula. A paper strip is pressed down on the wax and drawn quickly away removing the wax and the hairs that are attached. After the treatment a soothing 100% pure lavender oil is applied to calm the skin.
Q: What is the best hair length for waxing?
A: The optimum hair length for waxing is 1/4 inch (6mm).
Q: What should I wear to my treatment?
Answer: There is no mandatory clothing to be waxed in since you will obviously be removing it any way. For your convenience a skirt or dress would be the best attire to get a bikini or brazilian wax in.
Q: How can I avoid in-growing hairs?
A: Exfoliate the skin thoroughly to remove dead skin cells. Moisturise the skin every day. If the skin is supple new growth can break through more easily reducing the risk of ingrowing hairs and infection. |
